If only you waited…

The sleepless drowsiness envelops me

Yet I wait

The pain invades every inch of me

Yet I wait

The hunger and thirst claws at me

Yet I wait

I wait

I wait

I wait

She comes to me

From across the sea

My blood, my prodigal child, my warrior, my survivor.

She who fought for as long as I know her

She who was born into rejection and scorn

My middle child, the one with the pain and anger of the world contained within

I smiled at her as she kissed my brow

For once she stood silent, no fight, no flight

As we let each other go …

At least I wish it were so…

She chose not to wait😢😢😢
